The Eamon Cannon Comedy Project (ECCP) a non-profit project of Social Good

The Eamon Cannon Comedy Project was launched to honor the memory of Eamon Cannon, a comic prodigy who launched a brilliant career in stand-up comedy while still in high school and who taught, mentored, and deeply affected many young people. His former teacher and colleague, Susanna Spies, together with Eamon’s family and friends, created the project to extend his work and achievements to others. The project was piloted at Olympic High School in Santa Monica from February 2008 to April 2009 with demonstrable success and acclaim, and has since been brought into Inner-City Arts, located on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, as well as Heart of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Youth Network, YMCA of Santa Monica, Boys & Girls Clubs of Hoboken, Boys & Girls Club of Jersey City, and more!  For thirteen years, classes and performances have provided a population of students an opportunity to share and express through this platform.  This program serves local high schools, providing artistic and creative experiences and opportunities they would never encounter elsewhere, with benefits beyond the mic. These high school students are precisely the participants the Eamon Cannon Comedy Project is intended to reach.
