Since 2002, we’ve helped young people build confidence, creativity, and connection by exploring what makes them uniquely themselves-all through the universal language of laughter. Our youth programs feature a culminating class showcase, a tradition we rooted in the world-famous Hollywood Improv, celebrating each student’s individuality, growth, and original voice.

Comedy Playground combines two powerful forms of comedy: Improvisation and Stand-Up! Students learn to think creatively, develop original material, and write their very own stand-up sets while building confidence, critical thinking, expository writing skills, and meaningful peer-to-peer connections.

Coast to Coast!
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Comedy Playground offers programs on both coasts, bringing the power of comedy, creativity, and self-expression to youth and communities year round.
CP West (Los Angeles) offers in-person youth Comedy Combo classes in North Hollywood, with Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions culminating in special showcases, including opportunities to perform at The Improv in Hollywood!
CP East (New York) offers comedy sessions throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding NYC areas. Founder Susanna Spies divides her time between the East and West Coasts, bringing Comedy Playground's unique approach to schools and communities through in-school, after-school, and enrichment arts programs, as well as customized on-site workshops, private events, and coaching.
Online ZOOM programs are also available, creating even more opportunities to discover your funny, find your voice, and connect through comedy!
